В отличии от всех других праздников "они нас хотели нас убить, мы выжили, а теперь давайте есть", в Пурим надо еще пить, и пить не мало. На всякий случай буду бухать и 13, и 14 и 15 Адара, т.е. с четверга по субботу. Вот такой мне выпал жребий.
Эта мелодия Budapest Klezmer Band, так и называется "Пурим" - сначала все грустно, "плачь на реках Вавилонских", а потом как всегда :)

just saw new film "Making trouble" - it's a documentary about 6 American-Jewish women, all great stars of American theater and TV of the 20 century.
Sofie Tucker. She was a singer, and I love her songs (check "Some of These Days") . She was also the first one to start joking about sex on stage in America.

"I'll never forget it you know...I was having tea with my girlfriend Clementine one day when there was a knock on the door. I answer the door, delivery boy hands me 2 dozen roses and a note which read "Love, from your boyfriend Ernie". I say to Clementine , "Well, you know what this means, don't you? I'm going to be on my back with my legs spread for the next 2 weeks!" And Clementine says, "What, Soph, ain't ya got a vase?!!!"
I never heard about Molly Picon and Fanny Brice and they were stars on Broadway from 1920 to 1950. And they are both great.
Gilda Radner - SNL star. She was fighting her "fucker" (the way she called her cancer) with smile, and you can't forget this smile.
